Far East Predreadnought Naval game
Introduction
ThIs is a battle report from a large predreadnought game we played recently with 5 players.
The scenario consisted of two large Russian squadrons vs smaller Japanese, German and American squadrons. The Japanese commander volunteered to start in the middle and provide a picket line while the Amercians and German built up steam. We decided that the American and German player should roll a D6 secretly each turn and keep a running total. Once they reached 30, their squadron had enough steam up to start moving off.
We havent all rebased our models for the rules we use and one of the Russian fleets was not quite finshed yet.

The table. The game was played on a 8x4 foot table with the russian starting at to bottom end of the table and the American and germans starting at the top.

One of the Russian fleets. This is Dave's fleet with the models from War Times Journal which are very nice. Unfortunately the photos doesnt ery well how well they are painted.

The American fleet. Simons fleets which is a mix of navwar and War Time Journal models.

The German fleet. This is my fleet with the models from War Times Journal which are very nice models.

The target port This was put there for decoration and to be used as any objective by the attacking Russians. The jetties and building are from Skytrex and the crusiers were spare models from the German fleets, but were not used during the game.
The Japanese picket line. Andrews ships from Navwar which came up very well with the white lifeboats adding some colour.
The Russians steaming up the table. In this picture you can see both Russian fleets converging. They probably
should have been firing on each other at this point, but we let them off.
The Germans still hungover from drinking schnapps the night before. The german player rolled a
succession of 1s and 2s and took a long time to build up enough steam.
The Americans heading off after building up steam. They hoisted anchor about two turns before the hapless Germans.
The Japanese advance towards one of the Russian fleets. After spending their first few turns sailing around the island,
the Japanese headed towards one of the Russian fleets.
